THE BATTLE WITHIN

If you have a pulse, then you you’ve probably heard the news about Penn State and the head coach scandal.  I couldn’t help but think of how perfect an example of what we’ve been talking about the last couple weeks with TEMPTATION.  Remember, there is always more going on than just the “temptation” itself.  Your faith and your future are at stake.  With the news of the dismissal of the head coach and president, it’s evident that temptation and sin effect not just the person involved but so many more.  Also, we talked last night about how taking shortcuts to your “END GOAL” by compromising your values will never get you there the way you think.  The head coach and president and everyone involved thought that they could just sweep everything under the rug and keep the face of Penn State what they always dreamed of.  This “shortcut” doesn’t even have to be a sin or wrong, but we should never trade what’s important for what’s immediate.  Don’t ever trade your values for a shortcut to whatever goal you have in life… when you do, you take God out of the equation and you may never see what could have happened.
